Your future position

As a Senior Crude Oil Research Analyst, you will deliver high-quality, data-driven insights on crude oil markets, with a strong focus on the Americas. You will analyse physical market dynamics, identify key trends, and translate complex data into clear, actionable intelligence for clients, while supporting pre-sales and engaging with external stakeholders through reports, media, and presentations.

You will also help expand the geographical scope of our research; particularly strengthening US upstream coverage, playing a key role in growing our footprint in the region, supporting client engagement, and bringing valuable local insight to the team.

In addition, you will collaborate with product and technical teams to enhance analytical tools and supply-demand models, contributing to the ongoing development of our research offering.

 
 
 
Your mission is to
  • Use your experience to conduct rigorous market intelligence about crude markets with a strong focus on the Americas.
  • Identify key market trends and insights on the Americas physical markets to highlight in reports for clients.
  • Assist in pre-sales efforts by conveying Kpler's view. 
  • Promote research and materials produced within Kpler across all external stakeholders, building relationships with both the mainstream and specialist media
  • Identify and report on key developments in the oil and refined products space as part of Kpler's Insights offering
  • Contribute to the production of company webinars and external presentations
  • Collaborate with the product and technical teams to further develop our portfolio of client offerings
  • Sustain and develop models to produce supply and demand data
Experience & Background

Essential:

  • 5+ years of prior experience in crude oil markets
  • 3+ years of  physical trading exposure
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field, with proven experience applying modeling techniques in commercial or research environments
  • Experience in producing independent market analysis and insights
  • Skilled at conducting complex analyses across multiple datasets using advancing data analytics tools
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excel in collaborative team environments while taking full ownership of deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

  • Previous experience using Kpler data or other cargo tracking tools
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, or other data science tools
