Sagisย Diagnosticsย is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. We offer the highest quality services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals.

Sagis seeks a motivated Data Analyst II to support the needs of our Revenue Cycle Management, Financial, and Accounting Departments. You'll report to the Director of Data Architecture within the Innovation Team, but daily you will work closely with our financial analyst and RCM teams to deliver data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate will have solid data analysis skills, be eager to learn the healthcare revenue cycle, and be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Businessย 
  • With 2-5 years of work-related experience

Key Responsibilities
Data Extraction and Analysis

  • Extract and analyze data from our healthcare operations and billing databases to support performance trackingย 
  • Create queries and build visualizations using business intelligence tools (Zoho Analytics, Power BI, or DataBricks) to help identify trends in key metrics like charges, payments, denial rates, and DSOย 
  • Support senior analysts in complex data analysis projects

Reporting and Documentation

  • Develop standard reports and maintain existing dashboards that track operations and revenue cycle performanceย 
  • Document data processes and maintain report specifications for team referenceย 
  • Assist in preparing presentations for leadership on key findings and recommendations

Process Support and Improvement

  • Work with all departments to gather requirements and understand data needsย 
  • Assist in implementing solutions to improve workflows and revenue performanceย 

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Help monitor data quality and flag potential compliance issuesย 
  • Support efforts to ensure accurate lab and RCM practices through data validationย 
  • Assist with regulatory reporting requirements

Team Collaboration

  • Work with billing staff, coding specialists, and other departments to understand their reporting needsย 
  • Provide support to operational teams in understanding and using reportsย 
  • Collaborate with senior analysts on larger analytical projects

Technical Skills

  • Strong, demonstrable SQL skills - required (writing complex joins, CTEs, and aggregations against relational databases). Python or R is a plus.ย 
  • Experience with Zoho Analytics and/or Databricks is a huge plus (we use both heavily); experience with Power BI is also a plus.ย 
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central is a strong plus (the Finance and Accounting team is adopting it).ย 
  • Understanding of relational databases and basic database conceptsย 
  • Advanced Excel skills - required (pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups, and financial modeling)
  • Healthcare Knowledge (Preferred but not required)
  • Basic understanding of healthcare revenue cycle conceptsย
