Summer Youth Job Coach- Licking and Knox Counties

For Licking/Knox Goodwill

Position: Summer Youth Job Coaches

Number of openings: Licking County – 8 to 10 & Knox County – 3 to 4

Location: Career Services Newark Ohio for our Licking County area and Mount Vernon Goodwill for our Knox County area.

Pay: $16.00/hour

Bonus: $250.00 per completed session contingent on your attendance and notes being turned in daily

Schedule: Monday through Friday 30-35 hrs. per week

2 Sessions available:

Session 1: June 1st – July 2nd 11:00 am to 5:30 pm, times are approximate

Session 2: July 6th – August 7th 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, times are approximate

As a job coach, you will be responsible for job coaching participants in the Summer Youth Work Experience Program. The coach will provide job readiness training and ongoing coaching for participants with disabilities and other barriers to employment. The job coach supports participants as they learn how to perform their job successfully.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 18 yrs. or older.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to meet driving requirements for Insurance purposes.
  • Experience training or coaching people. Education is not required but is a plus!
  • Meet security requirements (BCI Background check or FBI if not lived in Ohio for the last 5 years, Systems for Awards Management, Office of the Inspector General, DODD online abuser registry, Medicaid provider Exclusions and Suspension list, Ohio Attorney General sex offender search, ODRC Offender search, Ohio Dept. of Health Nurse Aide Registry).
  • Work unsupervised for long periods of time.
  • Willing to complete First Aid and CPR certification during designated training session.
  • Able to compose detailed notes and complete paperwork to maintain accurate records.
  • Stand for 4 hours as well as bend, lift, stoop, squat and reach.
  • Must pass a pre-employment Drug Test.

Anyone with a dependable work history is qualified to apply for this job. We are looking for people who can teach today’s youth how to hold a job and interact with their co-workers. This job is ideal for college students working towards social work, education, rehabilitation, or psychology degrees. Current teachers, life coaches, sports coaches, or anyone with a love for helping people are encouraged to apply!

Typical day

  • Pick up your company assigned vehicle at our Downtown Newark office or Mount Vernon Store.
  • Drive to pick up your participant at their home.
  • Drive the participants to their designated worksite (we have several partner businesses in Licking and Knox counties).
  • Coach the participant with their job duties for their 4-hour shift. Take notes during the day.
  • Drive the participant home.
  • Drop off your vehicle at the same location you picked it up.
  • At offices immediately after, complete paperwork for Session 2
  • At offices before picking up participants complete paperwork for Session 1

Requirements for the $250 Completion Bonus per session are as follows:

Must have good attendance and complete the Session

All notes must be completed daily and turned into the appropriate office/Supervisor
