The Franciscan Renewal Center (FRC) is a nonprofit Catholic retreat center and home to Our Lady of the Angels Church, located on 25 acres in Paradise Valley. Founded in 1951 by the Order of Friars Minor (OFM), with a mission of “renewing lives through spiritual growth, healing and transformation, and service to others.”

We serve our mission by providing:
  • Retreats, meeting and conference space for faithbased and nonprofit organizations
  • Joyful worship at Our Lady of the Angels Church and additional support to our dynamic faith community with faith formation and spiritual education
  • Service and outreach programs for the poor and vulnerable
  • Counseling, therapy, and support groups
  • We have an opportunity for a Dishwasher/Cook to join our Kitchen team.     WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Carefully sort and handle all dishware and flatware to ensure none are lost or disposed of and to minimize breakage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all dishware, flatware and glassware using the proper method(s)
  • Clean and sanitary dining room after each meal service
  • Provide beverage, snack and food service to event socials
  • Cleans and maintains kitchen and dish areas, floors, walls and drains
  • Assists in the maintenance of kitchen storage areas, cleanliness and stocking.
  • Empty all trash in the kitchen and dining rooms and clean and maintain trash cans.
  • Assist kitchen staff as needed in peak times and to ensure smooth operation throughout shift.
  • General food prep when needed and as directed including: wash, peel, chop, grind, mix, strain, slice fruits, vegetables and meat and other ingredients.
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Valid Maricopa County Food Handler Card, or the ability to obtain one by start date
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds or more
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the duration of shift
  • Must be able to work in kitchen environment with varying conditions including heat exposure, steam and moderate to high noise levels
  • Ability to consistently practice appropriate safety and sanitation
  • Ability to remain focused and organized, even in a busy environment with interruptions
  • Be a continuous learner by being open to new ideas and instruction to elevate skills
  • Ability to deliver excellent guest service on a consistent basis
  • Foster positive relationships with coworkers and dedication to working as a team
  • Fulltime position, must be punctual and dependable for scheduled shifts
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including days, evenings, weekends and some holidays. Schedules may vary on a weekly basis.
