How much do offshore jobs pay per hour?

As of Sep 3, 2026, the average hourly pay for offshore in Georgia is $18.01, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.06 and $19.47 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is an offshore?

An offshore job refers to work performed on structures located in bodies of water, such as oil rigs, wind farms, or marine research stations. These jobs can involve roles in drilling, engineering, maintenance, or support services. Offshore workers often follow rotational schedules, spending weeks at sea before returning to land. The work environment can be challenging due to isolation and weather conditions, but it typically offers competitive salaries and benefits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the offshore position, and why are they important?

To thrive in an offshore role (such as Offshore Engineer or Offshore Technician), strong technical expertise in marine operations, mechanical or electrical systems, and safety procedures is essential, often backed by a relevant degree or trade certification. Familiarity with specialized equipment like dynamic positioning systems, drilling machinery, and compliance with safety certifications such as BOSIET or HUET is commonly required. Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration in remote and challenging environments. These skills and qualifications help ensure operational safety, productivity, and the ability to respond quickly to offshore workplace demands.

What is the typical work schedule and living arrangement for offshore positions?

Offshore roles usually involve rotational schedules, such as two weeks on and two weeks off, during which employees live and work on platforms or vessels. Accommodations are provided onboard, including shared living spaces, dining facilities, and recreational areas, to support long shifts and extended stays. Team members often work 12-hour shifts and must adapt to living in close quarters with colleagues. These structured rotations allow for adequate rest periods and help maintain a healthy work-life balance, despite the remote nature of the work. Working offshore requires a willingness to adjust to these unique living and scheduling conditions.

How do I get into offshore work?

To get into offshore work, candidates typically need relevant technical skills, such as engineering, welding, or diving certifications, and often require safety training like BOSIET or HUET. Gaining experience through entry-level positions or apprenticeships can improve chances, and many employers prefer candidates with physical fitness and the ability to work in remote, challenging environments.

Job description

About Bellhop
Bellhop is a tech-enabled managed marketplace connecting customers with vetted local and long-distance moving companies. We're a lean, fast-moving team focused on building the best experience in the industry - for our customers, our moving and carrier partners, and the people who work with us..
The Role
Bellhop is hiring a Sales Manager to own the day-to-day performance of our sales team. You'll manage and coach a remote, onshore and offshore-based team of sales agents who handle inbound leads and phone/text follow-up for local and long-distance moves. You'll build the scripts, cadence, and coaching rhythms that turn the team into a high-conversion sales engine, and determine the right team size and structure needed to hit our performance standards.
This is a hands-on, player-coach role focused on daily discipline - call monitoring, script adherence, and follow-up cadence - layered on top of the sales structure we already have in place.
What You'll Do
  • Manage and coach a remote/offshore sales team handling inbound leads and outbound follow-up for local and long-distance moving customers
  • Determine the right number and structure of agents needed to consistently meet our performance standards, adjusting team size as volume and goals change
  • Build and continually sharpen sales scripts: objection handling, competitive positioning, value building, and pain discovery
  • Set and enforce outreach cadence and follow-up discipline across our CRM and calling/texting platforms, including hitting fast lead-response SLAs
  • Run daily quality monitoring - review calls and texts, coach agents 1:1 regardless of tenure, and turn observations into concrete script and process improvements
  • Own lead hygiene in the CRM, ensuring every lead is properly logged, statused, and worked
  • Track and report team performance and funnel conversion metrics, flagging opportunities and risks
  • Partner with marketing and product on lead quality and friction points in the web booking flow

Partner Recruiting
In addition to managing our consumer sales team, this role also oversees Bellhop's partner recruiting function - a team responsible for prospecting, recruiting, and onboarding new moving companies and carriers onto Bellhop's platform. You'll set the strategy and standards for how we identify and bring on the right partners, and ensure the recruiting team is consistently hitting its pipeline and onboarding goals.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience managing a remote and/or offshore sales or call center team. No moving experience required
  • A track record of improving conversion in a phone- and text-based sales environment
  • Strong sales fundamentals - you think in terms of a funnel, and you can coach agents to sell better regardless of how long they've been on the team
  • Comfortable building and refining scripts, not just enforcing existing ones
  • Hands-on and data-driven; comfortable operating without a large management layer above or below you
  • We weigh demonstrated sales management ability over years of experience - strong sales chops matter more than tenure

Nice to Have
  • Experience with CRM and calling/texting platforms in a sales environment
  • Experience in moving, relocation, home services, or another managed marketplace business
  • Experience building a sales function from scratch in a lean or scrappy environment

Compensation & Location
  • Full-time, W2, remote but ideally based in Atlanta, GA or Chattanooga, TN
  • Base salary + performance bonus/commission tied to team KPIs (conversion rate, lead response time, and other funnel metrics)

The pay range for this role is:
70,000 - 100,000 USD per year (Atlanta, GA)
70,000 - 100,000 USD per year (Chattanooga, TN)
