Position Overview
As a Quality Inspector, you will support fabrication, construction, and installation activities for projects by performing inspections, surveillance, and documentation to verify compliance with project specifications, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
District Overview
Kiewit Offshore Services is a district (or business unit) of Kiewit Corporation that builds structurally complex jackets and topsides for offshore oil drilling rigs. Located in Ingleside, TX, 20 minutes outside of Corpus Christi, the 550-acre fabrication yard is the workplace of 300 staff employees and 1400 craft employees who work in the yard year-round. The projects built by Kiewit Offshore Services require significant equipment planning, detailed cost estimates and schedules, a commitment to safety by all employees, and are truly unforgettable.

Location
This position is based at Kiewit's Offshore Services (KOS) District in Ingleside, TX.
Responsibilities
  • Perform quality inspections and surveillance activities related to structural steel fabrication and erection, piping fabrication and installation, welding, bolting and mechanical installation.
  • Verify work is performed in accordance with industry standards, approved drawings, specifications, Inspection & Test Plans, and project procedures.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to his/her specific assignment.
  • Assist with identifying and reporting rework and non-conforming issues.

Qualifications
  • Self-starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Oil & Gas and/or Power industrial construction, including structural steel and process piping.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as: AWS D1.1 / D1.5, ASME B31.1 / B31.3, ASME Sect. IX, AISC/RCSC, or other relevant codes and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification is preferred.
  • Ability to gain additional certifications to support project testing and inspection.
  • Capability to work extended construction hours during high seasons and potential night shifts.
