Main Purpose
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy equipment and overhead cranes, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel systems. This role also involves preventative maintenance, technical diagnostics, repair and mentoring of junior mechanics as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to establish accurate work procedures.
  • Inspection & Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment and overhead cranes to ensure optimal performance.
  • Component Maintenance: Repair hoists and various electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for mobile and crane equipment.
  • Knowledge Development: Maintain and enhance technical knowledge through ongoing training, workshops, and technical literature.
  • Parts & Tool Management: Identify and request replacement parts; manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company driving guidelines, safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality policies.
  • Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor within the physical scope of the role.

Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 3-5 years in heavy equipment or crane repair industry.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with gas and diesel engines, transmissions, and rigging principles.
  • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Independence: Capable of performing tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Tools: Must have own hand tools.

Other Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
