Our challenge

We are looking for a highly capableJava Full Stack Technical Leadwith strong hands-on experience inJava and Vue.jsto lead the design, development, and delivery of modern web applications. This role requires a strong technical leader candidate can actively contribute to coding while also driving architecture, mentoring teams, and ensuring successful delivery across distributed teams. The ideal candidate will bring deep full stack expertise, strong leadership capability, and proven experience managingremote/offshore engineering teams, particularly acrossUkraine and Colombia. This person will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $120k - CAD $130k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of full stack applications using Java on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend.
  • Act as a hands-on technical lead, contributing directly to development while guiding the team on best practices and technical direction.
  • Drive technical design, solution architecture, and system scalability decisions.
  • Own and coordinate delivery across distributed/offshore teams located in Ukraine and Colombia.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance to developers across multiple locations.
  • Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensure engineering standards are maintained across code quality, security, performance, maintainability, and testing.
  • Review code, resolve technical blockers, and support teams in troubleshooting complex production and development issues.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, technical discussions, estimations, and delivery tracking.
  • Promote strong collaboration and communication across remote teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify risks early, drive mitigation plans, and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as a Full Stack Developer/Lead with expertise in Java and Vue.js.
  • Proven experience working as a Technical Lead in agile software delivery environments.
  • Strong hands-on backend development experience with Java, ideally using frameworks such as Spring Boot or similar enterprise frameworks.
  • Solid frontend development experience using Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience in technical design, architecture, and solution delivery for enterprise-grade applications.
  • Ability to remain hands-on in coding while leading development teams.
  • Proven experience managing and coordinating remote/offshore teams.
  • Experience leading teams across multiple geographies, ideally including Ukraine and Colombia.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including code reviews, CI/CD, testing strategies, and secure coding principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive decisions in fast-paced delivery environments.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to database design and integration with SQL/NoSQL technologies.
  • Previous experience in client-facing or cross-functional global delivery environments.
