An Offshore Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is responsible for inspecting and ensuring the quality and safety of welded structures on offshore platforms, ships, and pipelines. They follow industry codes and standards to detect defects, verify compliance, and maintain structural integrity in harsh marine environments. Their duties often include visual inspections, nondestructive testing (NDT), and documentation of welding procedures. Offshore CWIs must have certification through the American Welding Society (AWS) or similar organizations. Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety regulations is essential for this role.
