Sheetfed Offset Press Feeder Operator

Step onto the pressroom floor for 2nd shift and you’ll find your rhythm fast. You review the production board, stage paper for the next run, set up the feeder, and keep the press humming alongside a seasoned Pressman. As pages roll and brands take shape, you’re the steady hand ensuring flawless paper flow and a spotless workspace.

Your Role on the Press Team

As a key feeder operator supporting our Press Department, you will work hands-on with production equipment and collaborate closely with the Pressman to keep every job on spec and on schedule.

What You’ll Do
  • Review the daily schedule and stage materials for upcoming jobs.
  • Confirm paper stock against load tags and job specifications.
  • Unload, position, and load sheets into press feeders efficiently and safely.
  • Set and fine-tune feeder systems, including double-sheet detection and pressure adjustments.
  • Continuously monitor paper flow, feeder performance, and press operation during runs.
  • Support the Pressman with operation, material handling, and changeovers.
  • Maintain ink and water levels to ensure consistent print quality.
  • Clean and care for press components (blankets, supplies) to reduce downtime.
  • Retrieve, label, and store printing plates after each run.
  • Complete basic preventive maintenance as directed.
  • Keep the press area clean, safe, and well organized.
