We bring together strategy, experience design, data, marketing, and technology to create connected digital experiences that help our clients engage their audiences, accelerate growth, and achieve meaningful business outcomes.

Northern is positioned as a leader in the performance advertising industry as a Meta and Google Premier Partner -awarded to only 3% of agency partners in Canada. The Opportunity - Senior Measurement & Ad Operations Strategist - Now accepting applications until August 21st, 2026

We're looking for a Measurement & Ad Operations Strategist to join our growing paid media team. This role sits at the intersection of measurement, tracking infrastructure, and analytics leadership, the connective tissue between the data our clients see and the decisions our media teams make.

You'll own the tracking, tagging, and data feed infrastructure behind every paid campaign, lead our relationship with the outside partner who builds our marketing mix models, and serve as the analytics authority for GA4 across accounts. You'll turn platform, CRM, and web data into reporting that holds up to scrutiny, and step in to run paid media accounts directly when capacity calls for it.

Our Connected Workplace Program gives you the option to choose a remote, hybrid or in-office workspace! (Within Canada)

What You'll Be Doing:

Tracking & Infrastructure

  • Architect and maintain client-side and server-side tracking (GTM web/server containers, dataLayers, Conversions APIs-Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced, TikTok Events API)
  • Own GA4 implementation and lead end-to-end tag QA
  • Troubleshoot tracking issues across self-serve and programmatic platforms
  • Keep architecture ahead of privacy shifts (iOS changes, cookie deprecation, consent mode)

Reporting & Insights

  • Own reporting architecture, dashboards, and automated data pulls (paid, CRM, web analytics)
  • Build and scale AI-assisted reporting processes and manage connector tools (Supermetrics, PowerMyAnalytics)
  • Lead performance reporting and trend analysis for clients and internal leadership

Measurement Strategy & Attribution

  • Set measurement strategy and standards Northern applies across client accounts and internally
  • Own attribution modeling (multi-touch, data-driven) and incrementality testing (geo holdouts, conversion lift)
  • Serve as Northern's point of contact for external MMM consultant; sense-check inputs and outputs
  • Translate results into media budget and channel allocation recommendations
  • Act as measurement subject-matter expert on client calls and identify opportunities to expand services

CRM & Data Integration

  • Build and maintain CRM/first-party data connections to media platforms (Customer Match, Meta Custom Audiences/CAPI, offline conversions)
  • Establish data hygiene and refresh processes to keep audiences and conversion signals accurate

Data Feeds & Paid Media Ops

  • Own data feed setup, management, and optimization across accounts; troubleshoot disapprovals and rejections
  • Manage budget pacing with dashboards and alerts
  • Build ad scripts and rules-based automation to reduce manual upkeep

Paid Media Management

  • Lead day-to-day management of one or more paid media accounts (Meta and Google Ads primary)
  • Drive client success by launching data-driven campaigns and executing real-time optimizations

Mentorship & Growth

  • Identify process gaps and build scalable measurement and tracking workflows
  • Shape team-wide standards, tooling choices, and best practices; mentor team members on technical deliverables
  • Drive adoption of tracking and reporting standards across the paid media team

Working Conditions

  • Office hours are generally Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm ET rare overtime and weekend work may be required, during peak seasonal periods.
  • Approximately 70% of the workday on a computer and 30% interacting with team members or clients.

What You Will Bring:

Core Experience (5-8+ years)
Paid media, ad operations, marketing analytics, or measurement with hands-on ownership of tracking and reporting infrastructure.

Technical Expertise

  • Google Tag Manager (including server-side containers, dataLayers, UTM governance, HTML/JavaScript, and basic server/cloud concepts)
  • Server-side APIs (Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions, TikTok Events API)
  • SQL and dashboarding (Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar)
  • GA4 fluency required; Adobe Analytics a plus

Platform & Channel Knowledge

  • Broad fluency across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Reddit, and programmatic/DSP environments
  • CRM/first-party data integration with media platforms

Measurement & Analytics

  • At least one MMM or advanced measurement platform (Northbeam, Triple Whale, Measured, Recast, Prescient AI, Rockerbox) or in-house MMM building experience
  • Ability to design or interpret incrementality tests (geo holdouts, conversion lift studies)

Education & Certifications

  • Post-secondary degree in marketing, advertising, web development, computer science, or equivalent work experience
  • Platform certifications a plus: GA4, Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, Google Tag Manager

Soft Skills
Clear communicator who translates technical data into business strategy for engineering, media, and client audiences.

What Success Looks Like (Year 1)

After your first year, you will own tracking and measurement across Northern's key accounts, establishing our standard for GA4, server-side tracking, and data accuracy. You'll build incrementality testing programs that drive real budget decisions, create dashboards that eliminate manual reporting, and unlock measurement service upsells. You'll mentor the team and document the standards that make tracking a repeatable strength across the org. Most importantly, you'll be the expert clients and the team trust to turn data into strategy.
