Job description

GFT is seeking a Office Engineer to join our Construction Services team in the Seattle area! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Seattle office.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the organization of priorities in a continually evolving construction environment. Possesses skills to acceptably create, coordinate, develop and maintain construction project records documentation. Requires engineering judgement and attention to detail, accuracy, quality, and organization. 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Establish and maintain job record files in accordance with client’s requirements and/or best practice. 
  • Prepares status and progress reports. Prepare meeting agenda and document meeting minutes. 
  • Recognize construction-related challenges and suggest procedures to resolve.  
  • Assists construction inspectors and contractor’s representatives in clarification of contract documentation relative to assigned contracts.  
  • Reviews and processes contractor's submittals and RFI’s and distribute as required.  
  • Prepare and maintain project progress payment estimates.  
  • Prepare change orders and contract modifications.  
  • Assist in the review contractor’s schedule.  
  • Prepare cost and/or time estimates for pending change orders and contract modifications. 
  • Coordinate and document changes to drawings and specifications.  
  • Maintain project logs for submittals, change orders, RFI’s, progress payments and other logs as directed.   
  • Oversee and mentor office staff. 

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Prefer 5+ years’ experience. 
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) 
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Prefer experience using cloud-based CM software (i.e Procore, E-Builder, Falcon, etc.)  
  • Preferred BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum high school degree with 2+ years continued higher level education 
  • Good communication skills  
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
