Job description

Join Our Frontline Team as a Box Office Associate
Location: Ashland, OR | Status: Non-exempt | Pay rate: $18.68 for seasonal

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is looking for a Box Office Associate to provide exceptional, welcoming service to our patrons. As one of the first points of contact for guests, you’ll ensure every ticket purchase, exchange, and inquiry is handled with care, professionalism, and efficiency—both in person and over the phone. 

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a customer-facing environment, is comfortable juggling multiple tasks, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team that brings world-class theatre to life. 

This position is represented by IATSE Local 154.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

  •  Process incoming phone orders (Donor processing and ticket orders).
  • Responds to and processes e-mail for the Box Office. Fills wait list requests. Pays off pending orders; processes Exchanges and/or refunds. Processes Auction Vouchers, both requests and fulfillment from the website.
  • Act as a resource, when necessary, with the support of other Associates for resolving inquiries for either patrons or staff in the absence of the Manager and Supervisors.
  • Handles all job duties within the daily assignments. Assists Supervisors in opening and closing the Box Office.

Qualifications & Skills:

REQUIRED:


Education: High School Graduate or GED or equivalent work experience in theatre ticket Sales or Customer Service.


Work Experience: Prior experience with OSF computer software or CRM sales programs, computer input, handling money, high level of customer service and telephone sales experience and light bookkeeping skills.


Physical Ability: Ability to sit and operate a computer for long periods of time, dexterity for computer input and answering telephone at the same time. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.


Other Skills, Ability and/or Knowledge: Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with clients, customers, co-workers and management; ability to work under pressure in a close environment with a high degree of accuracy; ability to multitask and to think quickly with
tactfulness and diplomacy. Maintain a high level of customer service while adhering to OSF Box Office policies.


Special Position Requirements: Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.


Special Hours Requirements: Working hours include Day and Evening shifts including weekends. Must be flexible in shift changes and days off. Punctuality is a must.


PREFERRED: Prior Box Office experience including ticketing software such as Tessitura. Experience in working with customer service, sales and reservation processing
