Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented EHS Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work with our safety culture by evaluating workplace risks, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations (OSHA/EPA), and supporting safety training initiatives to protect our environment and our people.
Job Description:
EHS Associate for Capital Projects will provide technical Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) leadership and support for capital projects at Client.Ensure project activities are executed safely, compliantly, and efficiently throughout all project phases while supporting operational readiness and business continuity. Technical EH&S resource for project teams by identifying, evaluating, and mitigating EH&S risks associated with facilities, equipment, utilities, processes, and construction activities. Independently manage assigned responsibilities and provide risk-based recommendations that support safe and compliant project execution.
Responsabilities:
• Serve as the primary liaison between site EH&S and capital project teams.
• Participate in project design reviews and planning meetings to ensure EH&S requirements, regulatory compliance, and risk reduction measures are incorporated into project scope and execution.
• Review engineering designs, layouts, equipment specifications, and construction activities for compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ASME, ANSI, and other local regulatory requirements, as applicable.
• Coordinate and support Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs), Management of Change (MOC) activities, commissioning activities, and operational readiness assessments.
• Utilize Client EH&S systems and digital tools (e.g., Salesforce-based EH&S platforms) to track project reviews, action items, change controls, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct field oversight and inspections to verify compliance with EH&S requirements.
• Collaborate with Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental, and other EHS programs, as applicable to the project, to proactively identify, evaluate, and resolve project related EH&S risks and compliance concerns in partnership with Facilities, Engineering, and Operations Teams.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to machine safeguarding, hazardous energy control, pressure systems, hazardous/compressed gases, chemical safety, and process safety, as applicable.
• Identify EH&S gaps, recommend corrective actions, and track closure of findings to completion.
• Travel could be required based on project's needs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related technical field preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, and OSHA certifications are not required but are highly preferred and considered for this role.
• Knowledge of EH&S regulations, industry standards, and risk management principles applicable to construction, engineering, and manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting capital projects and equipment installations within regulated industrial, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or manufacturing facilities preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in:

• Support during shutdowns, startups, and other project-related activities outside of normal working hours may be required.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other electronic EH&S management systems.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Other considerations: Willing to work during extended hours, night shift and weekend, based on the project schedule
