SUMMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of Hospital Services which includes hospital performance assessments, performance improvement initiatives and outcomes. Responsible for staff performance evaluations and improvement initiatives, to include identifying and providing educational needs and resources. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversees the general activity of the Hospital Services staff and provides guidance as necessary. Meets on a routine basis to ensure professional education, performance improvement, and hospital partnerships are implemented and consistent with the company’s goals and objectives

2. Oversees the development and implementation of plans for all hospitals to facilitate growth in the organ and tissue donation. Evaluates activities against established plan and works with coordinators to revise as necessary. Identifies and solves problems related to the provision of service with the hospital. Works in collaboration with hospitals’ QAPI departments to ensure hospital performance

3. Performs Hospital Services Coordinator role in a limited number of hospitals. 

4. Prepares, distributes and analyzes surveys, conducts one on one interviews with key individuals, and tracks and analyzes donor and referral patterns. Documents and communicates findings to appropriate DCIDS leadership. 

5. Evaluates hospital services staff performance. Provides coaching, counseling and education as necessary. 

Acts as the liaison to clinical staff to facilitate communication and uniformity in reporting, collecting and analyzing data. Routinely reports departmental activities to appropriate Managers / Directors. Communicates and works collaboratively with other DCIDS/OPO departments to identify and improve donation processes within hospitals,

Medical Examiners and Corner Offices. Act a role model for DCIDS and the DCIDS Quality Department by supporting, reinforcing and exhibiting behaviors which are consistent with the DCIDS Core Values. Other special projects and duties as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL TRAITS: Stands, sit, walks, observes, speaks, drives, and listens. Reads, prepares and presents variety of reports, documents and information 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education Required: BA/BS in health or business related field preferred. 

Experience: Two to four years OPO experience and quality system management required. 

Licenses / Certifications: Valid driver’s license, as well as ability to pass all MVR (motor vehicle record) underwriting requirements. 

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
