Job description

The Director of Security leads a guest-service-focused security team while fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, integrity, and operational excellence. This role partners closely with property leadership to support a secure, compliant, and employee-centric environment that aligns with the values and service standards of Rising Star Casino Resort and Full House Resorts.  Practices the Rising Star Core Values of Commitment, Integrity and Excellence. 

Essential Job Functions:
Leadership & Operations

  • Direct and oversee all Security Department operations for the casino, hotel, pavilion, golf course, parking facilities, and other property assets.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, accountability, and development for Security leadership and team members.
  • Establish staffing plans and scheduling practices to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Promote a professional, guest-service-oriented security presence throughout the property.
  • Lead departmental meetings, training initiatives, and performance management processes.
  • Conduct investigations involving guests, team members, policy violations, theft, workplace violence, harassment concerns, and suspicious activity.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and reporting of incidents, injuries, and security-related events.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all Indiana Gaming Commission regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Immediately report any violations of gaming regulations, internal controls, or suspicious activity in accordance with company reporting procedures.
  • Maintain operational readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Partner with Surveillance, Compliance, Human Resources, and Operations to mitigate risk and maintain regulatory integrity.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Oversee property-wide safety and emergency response programs.
  • Lead the property Safety Committee and coordinate safety initiatives across departments.
  • Review workplace injuries, accident trends, and incident reports to identify corrective actions and reduce liability exposure.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness planning, evacuation procedures, severe weather response, and crisis management activities.
  • Serve as a key responder and decision-maker during emergencies and critical incidents.

Asset Protection & Investigations

  • Develop strategies to safeguard company assets, guests, and team members.
  • Coordinate investigations involving liability claims, property damage, workplace incidents, and insurance matters.
  • Partner with legal counsel, insurance carriers, and corporate leadership as necessary.
  • Monitor security technologies, access controls, key control procedures, and physical security measures.

Team Member Engagement & Culture

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and employee-centric work environment.
  • Support company initiatives focused on engagement, recognition, wellness, and retention.
  • Promote respectful communication and professional conduct throughout the department.
  • Ensure consistent enforcement of policies and standards while maintaining fairness and integrity.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in operational meetings and property leadership initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, budgets, staffing recommendations, and operational analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide service to internal and external customers which reflects the company culture of Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation and Recognition. (S.T.A.R.)
  • Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security and Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.
