POSITION TITLE: Director of Accounting
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
CareSTL Health is seeking a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of CARESTL HEALTH's revenue cycle activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
: The Director of Accounting plans and directs accounting activities within CareSTL Health. This position has responsibility for demonstrating the core values of CareSTL Health: Customer Service, Community, Commitment, Compassion, and Competence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Director of Accounting may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Responsible for generating and presenting financial statements to CFO on a monthly basis.
  2. Responsible for managing organizational budget.
  3. Responsible for Medicaid and Medicare cost report preparation and submission.
  4. Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  5. Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting and payroll.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervise grant and contract fiscal reporting and requirements.
  • Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of legers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses and insurance records.
  • Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate studies.
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
  • Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
  • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property and other related procedures and controls.
  • Performs general support activities and carries out special projects as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or related field required

Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational and self-motivational skills.
  • Proficient with Excel for analytics.
  • Transportation Requirement:
  • Must have reliable transportation

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Registration and Billing departments

  • Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
