Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of an OCP Engineer in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities:
* Engineer, configure, and support middleware and containerized platform solutions across Linux and cloud environments
* Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize FIX, messaging, and integration platforms supporting business-critical applications
* Provide advanced production support, root cause analysis, and issue resolution for distributed systems and platform services
* Build and improve automation for deployments, infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and operational support
* Partner with application, infrastructure, networking, and vendor teams to deliver secure, reliable technology solutions
* Create and maintain system documentation, runbooks, diagrams, and knowledge-sharing materials
* Support change, incident, problem, disaster recovery, and weekend implementation activities as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
* 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, middleware support, DevOps, or distributed systems environments
* Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Linux, and container-based platforms
* Experience with CI/CD tools, automation frameworks, and source control platforms such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Git, or Bitbucket
* Knowledge of FIX protocol, trading systems, high-performance messaging, or financial services technology preferred
* Experience supporting cloud and virtualized environments, including AWS and VMware
* Strong scripting skills using Bash, Perl, Python, or similar languages
* Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and support critical or real-time environments
* Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and collaboration skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
