Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Test Engineer is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing test procedures for commercial and defense flight simulator training devices. This role involves managing requirements, developing and managing master test plans, and executing test activities. The LTE assumes a key role on our project teams and has the responsibility to lead the verification and validation of our flight simulator training devices. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

        Test Function:

o   Plan, prepare, and execute test procedures.

o   Develop automated test equipment and software.

o   Review performance specifications and provide test procedural recommendations.

o   Produce test plans and support test planning and system development meetings.

        Lead Test Events:

o   Conduct pre- and post-test briefings.

o   Develop and deliver test reports.

o   Assess safety hazards and provide risk mitigation inputs.

o   Develop test support, instrumentation, and data recording requirements.

o   Coordinate test asset and facility resources.

o   Develop data analysis tools and analyze test data.

        Quality Function:

o   Troubleshoot and solve problems.

o   Capture and drive the resolution of issues.

o   Improve procedures and processes.

o   Apply System of Systems thinking and Design of Experiments (DOE) concepts.

o   Perform integration testing, lead failure investigations, and perform root cause analysis.

o   Design data analysis processes to assess system quality.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

        Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics required.

        Private Pilot License and/or A&P License desired.

        ASQ CQE or CQA desirable

        Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in quality engineering or related disciplines required.

        Aircraft system and avionics operational experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

        Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.

        Knowledge of aerospace/defense engineering design, configuration control, and production disciplines.

        Knowledge of aircraft systems and pilot standard operating procedures

        Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.

        Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and methodologies.

        Experience with various testing types (functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance).

        Proficient in writing test plans and test cases.

        General purpose test equipment proficiency (DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies, network analyzers).

        Ability to work at floor level to 8 feet high with appropriate ladder.

        Strong written and oral communication skills.

        Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).

        Strong administrative, organizational, record management, and configuration control skills.

        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

        Ability to multitask and prioritize.

        Self-motivated, inquisitive, and resourceful.

        Ability to make decisions based on benefit, risk, time constraints, and opportunity.

        Ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative, dynamic environment.

        Travel CONUS and OCONUS for on-site installation verification and validation test activities.
