These jobs often involve working for private contractors on assignments related to logistics, security, engineering, IT, or other specialized fields. OCONUS roles may require security clearances, overseas deployment, and adaptability to different cultural and environmental conditions. They often offer competitive compensation, including hardship and travel allowances.

Strong problem-solving, cross-cultural communication, and adaptability are important soft skills, especially when working in diverse, remote, or high-pressure environments.
