What is an OCFA firefighter?

OCFA firefighters are emergency responders who work for the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), a regional fire service agency in Orange County, California. They are responsible for fighting fires, responding to medical emergencies, performing rescues, and providing disaster response and public safety education. OCFA firefighters undergo rigorous training and are equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies, from structural fires to hazardous material incidents. Their mission is to protect lives, property, and the environment within the communities they serve.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be an OCFA firefighter?

To thrive as an OCFA firefighter, you need a solid understanding of fire science, emergency medical response, and physical fitness, typically backed by a high school diploma, EMT certification, and completion of a fire academy.
