Raytheon's Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Systems Engineers interested in ocean engineering. Our Portsmouth, RI team primarily supports programs in the naval undersea and naval surface domains including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Our engineers perform underwater acoustics analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.
What You Will Do
  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Test activities
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
  • Conduct requirement analysis to ensure system designs meet program objectives and customer needs.
  • Detect and diagnose system failures, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
  • Support software/hardware integration efforts, collaborating with software teams to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Work across disciplines to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in data analysis techniques, and Integration, Verification, or Test practices.

What You Will Learn
After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) activities across the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with system software, system hardware, system requirements and/or test.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with identifying root causes of system failures through detailed diagnostics, implement timely fixes to restore functionality, and develop preventative measures to avoid recurrence
  • Experience developing and managing requirements using DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools, including application of model-based and digital engineering practices.
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or field environment supporting integration and/or verification to ensure the system under test performs according to specifications/requirements
  • Experience presenting technical findings, analyses, and solutions to leadership and customers.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
