Job description

Title:

Senior Expeditor

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for a Senior Expeditor to solve complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. You will use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes and may provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Expedites purchase order to monitor/manage vendor progress to ensure timely shipment of equipment/material.

  • Expedites supplier engineering data and drawings in accordance with the purchase order requirements.

  • Coordinates and monitors supplier's scheduled milestone activities. Monitors supplier's purchasing activity to ensure materials are purchased as scheduled and to ensure the timely delivery of component parts to support fabrication and assembly.

  • Interfaces with logistics team to coordinate timely shipment of equipment/material to the project site in a safe and cost-efficient manner.

  • Troubleshoots problem areas in purchase order execution and coordinates problem resolution or recommends solutions to management.

  • Discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and is responsible for negotiating refunds.

  • Coordinates with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.

  • Accountable for project procurement budget directly impacts upon revenue center's viability or its quality of service via personal contributions.

  • May provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or experience in lieu of a degree preferred.

  • 5+ years' experience in procurement in an industrial construction environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization skills, and ability to function within a project team.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities on a daily basis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills to include Excel, and Power Point.

  • Ability to speak fluent English. (Understanding or being able to communicate in other languages is a PLUS)

  • Familiarity with fabrication and manufacturing process.

  • Ability to work "independently."

  • Possess organizational skills for daily follow-up on multiple projects/activities/tasks.

  • Consistently obtain detailed status from suppliers, engineering, or other departments for the purposes of keeping the project schedule on track.

  • Organize and host routine procurement status meetings, and chair conference calls with suppliers, clients, and engineering.

  • Ability to evaluate supplier schedules to identify potential problems as well as be pro-active in producing suggestions on how to prevent them.

  • Ability to manage and respond to significant email traffic in a timely manner.

  • Experience with logistics/setting up truck, air, or ocean shipments as well as some experience or familiarity with customs clearance and the import process.
