Job description
Basic Job Function:
Perform duties in and around the Beach Club including, but not limited to, erecting beach umbrellas and chaise lounges for Guests/Members; to provide superior service and perform regular cleanup of towels, debris and personal belongings; to uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Guest or customer service experience preferred
- Must possess valid CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire as a condition of continued employment
- Must possess valid First Aid certification within 30 days of hire as a condition of continued employment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Understand and enforce all beach club policies, rules, and regulations
- Assist in opening and closing procedures
- Carefully monitors all pools and beach areas in the immediate Beach Club area ensuring the safety of guests
- Provide towel service and amenities as needed to our Guests and Members
- Service the Ocean House pools with towels and regular cleanup
- Cleaning Beach area extending from the south end of the Beach Club to 4th street
- Cleaning pool areas and foot showers
- Monitor and maintain the pool deck area, beach, lawn and lounging areas for trash, soiled towels, glasses, personal items and other safety hazards
- Work cross-departmentally with others to ensure events get set up and run properly
- Provide assistance to Sea Island Members and Guests with concern to the Beach Club facility as well as other events taking place within the Sea Island Company
- Provide personal service such as erecting umbrellas and moving chaise lounges for beach goers
- To act as a liaison between the Sea Island Beach Club and its’ Members and Guests
- Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability
- If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
- Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
- Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to swim, kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
- Must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
- Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 75 lbs intermittently throughout a shift
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
- Ability to maintain compliance with Sea Island’s Company Resort Professional Image Policy
