Position Overview/Lead Teacher: We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Teachers for our Before and/or after-school programs in West and North Philadelphia charter schools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing STEM-based learning activities, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL).
Availability: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-6:00 PM or split shift (6:45 AM-8:45 AM & 3:00 PM-6:00 PM).
Position Begins 8/18/2025

Schedule: Monday- Friday
Split shifts 6:45am -8:45am and 3:00pm-6:00pm
OR
Afternoon Shift: 3:00pm-6:00pm
Reporting to: Site Director
Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement age-appropriate STEM activities and provide homework assistance.
  • Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment, managing behavior and student progress.
  • Collaborate with the Site Director and other staff members to plan and coordinate program activities
  • Maintain accurate records of students attendance, progress, and other required documentation
  • Collaborate with staff and communicate with parents about student progress and concerns
  • Ensure compliance with OCDEL regulations and maintain student records.
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate or Bachelor's degree in education, Child Development, or Steam related field preferred.
  • Certification or eligibility for OCDEL certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with elementary-aged children, working with youth in a teaching, mentorship, or afterschool setting
  • CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to obtain
  • Availability: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-6:00 PM or split shift (6:45 AM-8:45 AM & 3:00 PM-6:00 PM).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of background checks: FBI, Child Abuse, PA State Police & NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry)
