Job description

Job Summary

Grady Health System is seeking a PRN / Pool Occupational Therapist (OT) to support the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services across inpatient and related care settings. This role is ideal for clinicians who value schedule flexibility while continuing to work with medically complex rehabilitation patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.

The Occupational Therapist practices within the professional scope defined by the Georgia Occupational Therapy Practice Act, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans that promote independence, functional recovery, and improved quality of life.

In this role, the Occupational Therapist provides evaluation and treatment services across designated service areas while supporting departmental coverage needs. The therapist is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating occupational therapy interventions for patients referred to the Occupational Therapy Department at Grady, ensuring care is delivered with the highest standards of clinical quality and patient-centered focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and therapeutic interventions for assigned patient populations
  • Deliver patient-centered treatment for individuals with complex medical and functional rehabilitation needs
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams to coordinate patient care plans
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient goals, progress, and clinical outcomes
  • Monitor, screen, and follow occupational therapy consults within assigned service areas
  • Deliver care that addresses patients' physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Provide PRN / Pool coverage across designated service areas as departmental needs require

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Licensed or license-eligible as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia, with Georgia licensure required by the start date of employment
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical occupational therapy experience
  • Clearly defined clinical expertise developed through professional experience and/or advanced certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a teaching hospital or academic medical center
