The Occupational Therapist will work in a friendly outpatient clinic located in Jefferson City, Missouri. The clinic is well-equipped with modern therapeutic tools and technologies, ensuring that you have access to the resources needed to provide high-quality care. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a structured schedule that promotes work-life balance while maximizing patient care opportunities.

• Conduct detailed assessments of patients to evaluate their functional abilities in areas such as mobility, strength, balance, and cognitive skills.
• Design and implement tailored treatment plans based on each patient's unique needs, goals, and challenges, aimed at fostering independence in daily activities.
• Facilitate therapy sessions that incorporate hands-on techniques to improve activities of daily living (ADLs) such as self-care, homemaking, and community participation.
• Enhance patients' fine motor skills and cognitive abilities through targeted exercises and innovative therapeutic activities.
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and lifestyle adjustments that can support ongoing recovery and overall health.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, which may include physical therapists, speech therapists, and physicians, to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Regularly track and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as needed to ensure the highest quality outcomes.

In this role, you will work primarily with a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, managing chronic illnesses, or dealing with disabilities that affect their functional abilities. Your efforts will focus on restoring their independence and enhancing their daily living skills, making it imperative to employ a compassionate and holistic approach to treatment.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensing as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Missouri is mandatory.
• Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is highly preferred.
• 2 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist in a healthcare setting is required, with a preference for outpatient settings.
• Strong understanding of occupational therapy methodologies and techniques applicable to various patient conditions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and education with patients and their families.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team-oriented environment.

• Experience within an outpatient therapy setting is advantageous, though not required.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and documentation best practices.
• Proficiency in using various therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment to assist patients' progress.
