Observability Engineer (Dynatrace, Splunk & OpenSearch)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Observability Engineer with strong expertise in Dynatrace, Splunk, and OpenSearch to design, implement, and support enterprise monitoring and observability solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience building end-to-end monitoring strategies, log analytics platforms, dashboards, alerting frameworks, and troubleshooting production environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise observability solutions using Dynatrace, Splunk, and OpenSearch.
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, reports, and monitoring strategies for applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
  • Configure distributed tracing, Real User Monitoring (RUM), synthetic monitoring, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Build and optimize log ingestion pipelines, indexing strategies, and search capabilities.
  • Analyze application performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, and Application teams to improve platform reliability and performance.
  • Implement monitoring for cloud-native applications, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices.
  • Automate monitoring deployment using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Establish observability standards, governance, and best practices across enterprise environments.
  • Support incident response, capacity planning, and performance tuning initiatives.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of IT experience with strong expertise in Observability and Monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, and OpenSearch.
  • Strong knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring (APM), distributed tracing, and log management.
  • Experience creating dashboards, alerts, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Experience monitoring cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container monitoring.
  • Experience with Linux, scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell), and automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
