Job description

UtilityInnovation Group (UIG) is hiring a Grid Monitoring Specialist to support our GridSure Command Center. The GridSure Command Center is a remote microgrid monitoring and dispatch center that supports utilities, data centers, and large energy users worldwide.

Based at our global headquarters in Raleigh, NC, this role collaborates closely with Operations and Engineering teams to maintain and optimize real-time grid operations while coordinating with UIG International in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and dispatch load management assets across UIGโ€™s North American fleet
  • Coordinate with customers during events and alarm conditions
  • Support the integration of GridSureโ€™s advanced control and analytics platform
  • Perform real-time fault analysis and triage of power system operations
  • Prepare for and manage disaster response events impacting energy assets
  • Support Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) and verify system integrity
  • Assist with programming, device configuration, and data integration
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to move equipment from concept to production
  • Maintain and improve overall Command Center operations and summarize performance data
  • Coordinate U.S. and EU asset management efforts with UIGI teams in Dublin
Required Qualifications
  • 0-3 years of experience in electrical systems, system automation, or other relevant fields
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, IT systems, and tools
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Availability to work at the Raleigh HQ as needed and travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in automation systems or SCADA integration
  • Familiarity with DEIF, Woodward, ComAp, or similar control platforms
  • Knowledge of industrial automation system platforms
  • Primarily in-office at UIGโ€™s Raleigh headquarters, with occasional travel
  • Occasional after-hours support during operational events
