 Seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering Software Engineer to join the Connected Vehicle Platform team. This role focuses on designing, building, and operating scalable, cloud-native infrastructure that supports over 26M connected vehicles globally. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kubernetes, multi-cloud environments (AWS/GCP), Infrastructure as Code, automation, and platform engineering, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build cloud-native platform solutions enabling automated, repeatable shard provisioning
  • Develop control plane tooling to provision production-ready shards within 24 hours with zero manual intervention
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for multi-cloud environments (AWS & GCP)
  • Implement and manage GitOps workflows using tools like Atlantis or similar
  • Provision, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE)
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for multi-environment and multi-shard deployments
  • Configure and operate Istio service mesh including traffic management, mTLS, and observability
  • Build and operate GCP-native services (GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Secret Manager, VPC-SC)
  • Support AWS to GCP migration initiatives for evolving platform architecture
  • Configure and manage API gateways (Tyk, Apigee, NGINX) with routing, rate limiting, and security policies
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Tekton, Concourse, or similar tools
  • Implement automated deployment validation, rollback mechanisms, and health checks
  • Enforce IAM best practices, security policies, and compliance across AWS and GCP
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Cloud Operations
  • Develop automation tools and scripts using Python, Go, Bash, or Node.js
  • Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot incidents, and apply SRE principles for system reliability
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles
  • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS or GKE) in production
  • Strong expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with modular design
  • Experience implementing GitOps workflows and infrastructure automation
  • Strong experience with Helm for Kubernetes deployments
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP cloud platforms
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in distributed systems
  • Experience building and operating production-scale infrastructure

Experience Preferred

  • GCP expertise including GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, workload identity, and VPC-SC
  • Experience with API gateways (Tyk, Apigee, NGINX) and traffic/security policies
  • Hands-on experience with Istio service mesh and observability
  • Experience with gRPC and protobuf schema design
  • CI/CD tools experience (ArgoCD, Tekton, Concourse)
  • Programming experience in Python, Go, Java (Spring Boot), or Node.js
  • Security expertise including IAM, mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC, and multi-cloud security
  • Experience with Terraform collaboration tools like Atlantis or Terragrunt
