Job description

Databases and data stores are at the center of our applications, for legacy applications and modern AI applications alike. Yet most observability and optimization approaches lack a holistic approach or application context. Datadog has been on a mission to revolutionize how databases are operated, flipping what is often seen as a black box of complexity prone to security and performance risks, into a well oiled machine enabling our builders and businesses to move faster and smarter.
We're looking for an experienced product manager passionate about joining this mission to lead this product opportunity.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead ambitious investments that rethink how customers operate and get value from their databases, diving into ambiguity, working with our customers on new models, and shipping new products and changes to existing products.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers and their issues, what problems are really behind those issues, and how we can improve how databases are operationalized across SRE teams, DBAs and application developers. Continuously refine your understanding of database management systems and datastores from SQL and OLTP based to NoSQL e.g. AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL, etc
  • Define, build and launch the next generation of database monitoring and optimization capabilities for our customers
  • Join a talented engineering team with a record of disrupting observability approaches to further the mission of demystifying and optimizing databases using your team's creativity, alongside your customers' problems, as a key resource.
  • Collaborate with other Product teams in Datadog to maintain and improve all Datadog products, improve the seamless integration across them, and help customers identify incidents root cause and navigate through telemetry faster
  • Partner with marketing and cross functional teams including sales, customer success and support teams, to define Go-To-Market plans and strategy for database monitoring, data observability and APM features
  • Continuously evolve the product practice and the product itself with the latest technologies, including AI tools and agents

Who You Are:
  • You're comfortable using AI tools for research and building
  • You have experience building AI products and evals including manual evaluations, golden data sets, LLM as judge, to measure and improve AI product quality
  • You have 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager in cloud or developer tools, ideally including intimate experience with databases
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to present and defend your ideas to technical stakeholders and executives alike
  • You are customer focused with high quality standards for your products
  • You are passionate to work in a high growth and impact environment to build new products and scaling existing ones

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We know not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your experience, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits & Growth:
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global Spring Health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
