What does an OBGYN do?

An OB-GYN, or obstetrician-gynecologist, is a medical doctor who specializes in women's reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth. They provide routine care such as annual exams, Pap smears, and screenings for reproductive health issues. OB-GYNs also manage pregnancy, deliver babies, and diagnose and treat conditions related to the female reproductive system, such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and infertility. Their expertise covers both preventive care and treatment of complex health problems.

What career path is an obstetrician-gynecologist?

An obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) typically follows a career path that includes completing medical school, a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and obtaining board certification.
