They may be mechanics, automotive technicians, or engineers specializing in vehicle diagnostics. OBD jobs are essential in ensuring vehicles comply with emissions regulations and operate efficiently.

What does a typical day look like for an OBD technician?

A typical day for an OBD Technician involves using specialized computers and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues in vehicle systems. You'll conduct system scans, interpret trouble codes, recommend repairs, and sometimes assist with emission testing. Collaboration is common, as you'll work closely with service advisors, mechanics, and occasionally directly with customers to explain findings. The role often requires ongoing learning to keep up with evolving vehicle technologies, contributing to a dynamic and engaging work environment.
