They provide comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal and postpartum care. Responsibilities
  • Interview and examine patients, review past medical history, requests and/or perform diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case. Provide definitive management and full spectrum OB/GYN outpatient practice within the limitations of the clinic.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics making observations appropriate to the outpatient's underlying disease and treatment plan, including current symptoms. Reviews the patient's medications, diet, therapy course, adherence to management plan and patient observations.
  • Assures preparation of appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care.
  • Works closely with allied health professionals to utilize and coordinate the services of other health care professionals in the management of the patient's medical, psychological, and social problems.
  • Evaluates and treats approximately 12-20 patients during an 8-hour workday.
  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures normally performed by OB/GYN such as, but not limited to:
    • Performing minor surgery including but not limited to laceration repair and excision of skin lesions.
    • Supervise other health care providers including physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and medical clerks.
    • Perform OB/GYN exams, long term contraceptive management and triages, treatment and ambulatory patients and refer emergency patients as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of two years' experience as an OB/GYN.
  • Certification: Board certification is preferred; however, board eligibility is also accepted. Basic Life Support certification is a requirement.
  • Education: Minimum education is a doctorate degree in Osteopathy or Allopathic medicine.
  • Licensure: The physician must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as a physician in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
