Position: ECE Teacher Assistant & Studio R.O.C.K.S. Teacher

Program: Early Childhood Education / Out of School Time (OST)

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (split shift / 30 hours per week)

Schedule: 7 AM to 9 AM - 2 PM to 6 PM

Location: Washington, DC

Job Summary:

The Studio R.O.C.K.S. Teacher & ECE Teacher Assistant works in a dual role, serving part-time as a Teacher Assistant under the direction of the Lead Teacher to reinforce classroom lessons, and part-time supporting the implementation of the Studio R.O.C.K.S. Before and After School Program.

Responsibilities:
  • ECE Classroom: Assist the Lead Teacher with lesson plans, classroom activities, recordkeeping, and family engagement.
  • Studio R.O.C.K.S. Program: Support the execution of projectbased curriculum, coordinate student learning activities, and maintain a safe, organized environment.
  • Family Engagement: Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and participate in parent meetings.
  • Compliance & Safety: Uphold licensing, NAEYC, and health and safety standards while maintaining confidential student records.
  • Collaboration: Actively participate in team planning, staff retreats, and professional development training.
  • Qualifications:
  • 12 years of experience working with schoolage children and youth.
  • Must have a valid CDA credential or an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). Effective communication skills and flexibility with scheduling and routines.
  • English fluency is required. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
