WCHS's powerful educational program enables every student to graduate well-prepared for college and the world beyond it.
In order to fulfill its mission, WCHS is looking for exceptional teachers for School Year 2026 to 2027. We welcome applications from NYS certified teachers. Our teachers play very critical roles in realizing the core mission, philosophy, and unique youth-centered approach of the school's educational design. Our supportive team of social workers and academic leaders work together to support teaching staff and students alike. Our teachers also act as advisors to about 15 students to ensure academic success.
Salary:
$68.000 - $90,000

Responsibilities
  • Teach 5 courses per day
  • Attend department and planning meetings
  • Collaborate with other teachers to provide rigorous, standards-based learning to students
  • Use student performance data derived from teacher-created and standardized assessments to drive instructional decision-making

Skills/Qualifications
  • NYS Certification
  • An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and co-teachers
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
  • 2+ years of lead classroom teacher experience (excludes student teaching and serving as a teaching assistant/substitute)
  • Experience with planning and/or teaching high school curriculum aligned with Common Core standards and driven by data
