Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking an environmental compliance technician to join our team in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Projects include providing environmental compliance services associated with land development activities, residential developments, commercial properties, utility, and transportation development.

Job Duties

Primary duties include:
• Environmental compliance inspections and reporting
• Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development and auditing
• Coordinating with federal and state resource agencies regarding wetlands, erosion and sediment control and stormwater compliance
• Best Management Practices (BMP) construction monitoring

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 1-2 years of experience performing environmental compliance tasks in relation to National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC), and Nationwide Permit (NWP) programs.

• Virginia DEQ Stormwater Management (SWM) and Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Inspector certifications.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision
• Outstanding communication skills
• Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors
• Willingness to regularly travel regionally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 3-5+ years of experience performing environmental compliance tasks in relation to National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) inspections and Hazardous Waste management including SPCC Inspections
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies or related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
