We are looking for a software engineer intern with a strong passion in the self-driving car industry and interests/experiences in mapping, machine learning, and 3D data visualization. NVIDIA plays a meaningful role in the AI and Autonomous Vehicles industry through significant investments in the DRIVE platform and a robust ecosystem of partners. The map team is positioned on the critical path of numerous crucial AV projects, and in tight collaboration with multiple teams. We are a team laser focused on building globally scaled HD mapping solutions. We provide survey level HD Mapping and Localization services for the NVIDIA DRIVE® platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work closely with senior engineers and learn about the tech stack to build high quality, high definition maps in a scalable way.

  • Build automation algorithms, data pipelines and visualization tools to improve map building quality/efficiency and support new mapping features.

  • Explore exciting new ideas to combine SOTA generative AI technologies and our rich mapping dataset to tackle hard problems in map building, map QA and simulation.

  • Engage with various map data consumers (perception, infra, simulation) in AV and Nvidia.

What We Need To See:

  • Pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related majors

  • Excellent programming skills in Python, C++, or Java

  • Previous experience or coursework in robotics, automotive, or artificial intelligence

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:

  • Experience with cloud pipelines & infrastructure including Kubernetes, Docker, AWS

  • Experience in AV related areas: Self-Driving Cars, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, SLAM, Sensor fusion, and/or GPU technology

Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay based on the position, your location, year in school, degree, and experience. The hourly rate for our interns is 20 USD - 71 USD.
