Job description

Job Summary

Under department supervision, oversee and perform routine food service operational activities including ordering, receiving, food storage, food preparation, and serving of meals, setup of serving areas and the preparation and serving of food in quantity at an assigned district site(s); perform cashiering duties in the sale of food items; prepare in other food preparation and catering duties as directed; maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition; provide exceptional service to students and staff; and perform related work as required. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Incumbents in the Nutrition Services Kitchen Operator class are assigned greater responsibility in coordinating, ordering, and preparing a variety of food items and supplies in a kitchen. Nutrition Services Kitchen Operator should be able to perform all duties of Nutrition Services Assistant I and II.
