Job description

PRN Days: 7am-7pm

Telemetry I/3200 is a 27-bed unit. Working on a telemetry floor presents the opportunity for all nurses to learn and understand how to identify, interpret and manage cardiac rhythms, as well as receiving continuing education on cardiac treatments, medications, and cardiac drips. In addition to cardiac patients, Telemetry I/3200 cares for pulmonary patients (pneumonia and COPD), gastrointestinal patients (gastrointestinal bleeds, small bowel obstructions), ICU step down patients (tracheostomy care, percutaneous endo-gastric tube management, total parenteral nutrition management, foley catheter management, wound care).

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements:

  • Validation of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Certification Requirements (Must be certified in Alabama):

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Applicant must be a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant, Paramedic, EMT, or currently enrolled in a nursing program. If enrolled in a nursing program, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing is a requirement, and documentation is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of Nurse Managers, RN’s and LPN’s.
  • Provides for personal care, comfort, and assures patient safety.
  • Must be dependable, hardworking, and a team player with a good attitude and professional behavior.
  • Applicants will be responsible for vital signs, assisting nursing personnel, and helping patients with basic daily needs.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
  • Other duties as assigned.
