Our values guide both the services we provide and the culture we create for our employees.Our ValuesWe respect the unique personhood of each childWe believe in the power of a securely attached familyWe are family-centered, caring and supportiveWe strive for equity and celebrate diversityWe are collaborative and ambitiousWe emphasize strengths and assume positive intentWe honor vulnerability and courageWe offer optimism and hopeWe express gratitude for our community's generosityOur ReputationOur programs are high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and family-centeredWe are innovative, adaptive, and nimbleWe are strategic leaders and collaborators who champion children and familiesWe are an approachable, responsive, respected, and solution-oriented teamWe are trustworthy and honor the dignity of all personsWe provide life-saving hopePosition SummaryAs a Relief Nursery Therapeutic Education Teacher, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary teaching team to provide high-quality, research-based early childhood services that support the healthy development of young children and strengthen family relationships.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate classroom activities and lesson plans.Create engaging learning environments that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.Maintain classroom schedules, documentation, assessments, and referrals as needed.Utilize therapeutic and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies to promote skill development and school readiness.Monitor and assess children's progress and support successful transitions to preschool, Head Start, community childcare programs, and kindergarten.Conduct home visits to support families and strengthen parent-child relationships.Help parents build positive home environments that support their children's physical, emotional, and developmental well-being.Connect families with community resources and support services when appropriate.Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner agencies to ensure comprehensive support for children and caregivers.QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:Associate degree (AA/AS) from an accredited institution in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; orStep 9 or higher on the Oregon Registry; orCompletion of 15 quarter credits or 10 semester credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or Special Education from an accredited institution, along with a commitment to complete a professional development plan within the first year of employment.Additional requirements include:Fluency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with children, families, community partners, and staff.Minimum of six (6) months of qualifying teaching experience in a certified childcare center or comparable group care setting serving infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.Ability to successfully pass required background checks and pre-employment drug screening.Valid Oregon driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
