Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) at Southern Utah Veterans Home provides professional nursing care to veterans residing in the facility. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to ensure the highest quality of care and promote the health and well-being of our veteran residents.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and document residents' health status and progress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
  • Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding health conditions and care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and facility policies and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training as needed.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah.
  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience preferred, preferably in long-term care or geriatric settings.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • CPR certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care to veterans.
