RN - Cardiac Rehab (FT Days)

Join North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) as a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, where your clinical expertise directly supports patients recovering from cardiac events and working toward long-term heart health. In this role, you'll combine hands-on nursing care, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a supportive, mission-driven healthcare environment.

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Rehabilitation provides professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients enrolled in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. This role collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote patient safety, recovery, and education while monitoring patient response to therapeutic exercise and treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accountability to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Coordinator.
  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Maintain professional telephone etiquette, identifying department and self.
  • Complete required admission forms and maintain accurate patient documentation.
  • Orient new participants to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care.
  • Supervise and monitor patient exercise sessions, assessing tolerance and response.
  • Accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse, before, during, and after activity.
  • Educate patients on proper self-monitoring techniques.
  • Chart and maintain complete records of initial assessments and ongoing progress.
  • Teach patients and family members proper exercise techniques and body mechanics.
  • Lead patient education sessions within nursing scope and expertise.
  • Report significant or adverse patient responses to the supervising physician.
  • Initiate immediate Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) interventions during sentinel events.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and order replacements as needed.
  • Monitor emergency equipment to ensure proper function and readiness.

Job Qualifications

  • Required
    • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (RN).
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Minimum of 3 years of cardiac care or equivalent clinical experience.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • Telemetry experience.
    • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
    • Computer proficiency.
  • Preferred
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Previous Cardiac Rehabilitation experience.
    • Completion of a 12-lead EKG course within the past 2 years.
