Description:

Job Title: Product Manager 

Department: Marketing 

Reports To: Vice President 

FLSA Status: Exempt/ Salary

Supervise the work of others: No

Position Summary:

The Product Manager will conduct market research and analysis efforts to optimize current business practices and analyze new markets and business opportunities both in the US and internationally. The Product Manager will serve as a liaison between Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Legal.  

Duties and Responsibilities: This list is meant to represent the primary duties of the position. It is not comprehensive and other duties may be required or assigned. This position requires:

· Maintain proficient knowledge of AMT’s products as well as industry-wide trends and challenges that affect AMT’s business.

  • Determine      customers' needs; ensure customer needs are incorporated into product      design. 

· Product research: 

o Collect and analyze data to identify product development opportunities and opportunities to expand into new industry segments.

o Create and maintain a database on competitive products, market share, and ongoing industry/product updates with teams.

· Market research: Collect and analyze data to determine opportunities for geographical expansion and optimization both domestically and internationally.

· Clinical education:

o Patient education: Assist in creation and development of patient education guides and other clinical resources. 

o Corporate education: Assist in generating training decks for Sales team education. 

· Develop and present reports detailing data and research findings on various projects.

  • Recommend the nature and scope of      present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and      requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging      changes.
  • Assess market competition. 
  • Collaborate with Sales and      Marketing to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assess product market data by      calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call      results.
  • Coordinate product launch efforts      with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing. 

· Perform general office duties and other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: At a minimum, applicants should have: 

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, healthcare sciences/engineering, mathematics, or a similar degree. 

Experience working in a professional research/analyst role; preference will be given to those with experience as a product manager. Medical/Healthcare background desired.  

Travel Commitment: up to 10% 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Applicants should have:

· The ability and skill to effectively use a personal computer and various software packages including a high degree of proficiency in Excel, complex database analysis including government databases, and the ability to create detailed reports.

· The ability to conceptualize, plan and implement research projects for a variety of topics and a strategic and analytical thought process to solve big picture problems.

· Resourceful strategies in identifying valid data sources and a commitment to data integrity. 

· Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively organize and present information to various teams for various projects in a clear, concise, and thorough manner.

· Knowledge and experience in the acquisition of products and companies.

· Knowledge, experience, and interest in global healthcare markets and landscape. 

· The ability to establish priorities and work independently with minimal supervision. 

· General knowledge of modern business communications, office procedures, and methods. 

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.

Language Skills: Applicants should have strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, customers (including doctors, nurses, and end-users), and the general public. Additionally, applicants need to be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Finally, applicants need to be able to efficiently communicate through written reports and general business correspondence. 

Mathematical Skills: Applicants should have strong mathematical skills including statistical/risk analysis, the ability to design formulas, as well as the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to solve problems. Applicants will also need to be able to interpret mathematical and technical diagrams.

Reasoning Ability: Applicants should have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited direction is given. This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ideal applicant will be forward thinking, able to brainstorm outside of the box, be highly detail-oriented, and organized.

Additionally, applicants must be able effectively communicate the results of these analyses with others. Applicants must be able to troubleshoot and solve problems and will often be required to read, analyze, and interpret written materials. Finally, applicants must comply with company policies and be able to maintain positive working relationships.
 

Physical: Must be able to listen and verbally communicate for hours at a time. Additionally, applicants must be able to use computer equipment. The office environment has a moderate noise level and limited exposure to physical risk.
 

Equipment Used: Computers, telephones, and other office equipment as needed.
