Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery
Froedtert South Medical Group
Froedtert South has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join Goya Raikar, M.D., an experienced robotically trained Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The ideal candidate would work in the operating room, provide inpatient management, and have an outpatient practice in our growing cardiothoracic surgery program.
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will direct patient care in the hospital and clinic setting, handle all aspects of treatment plans, review and evaluate test results and complete medical documentation under the supervision of Dr. Raikar.
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will have on-call responsibilities, which may include responding to inpatient and outpatient inquiries, responding to the hospital to attend to inpatients, responding to the hospital to assist with urgent/emergent surgeries. On-call requirements will be shared. When on-call, there will always be support from a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The number of qualified staff available determines the call rotation.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Masters in Physician Assistant Studies or Master of Nurse
    Practitioner, or Doctor of Nurse Practitioner.
  • Training: Successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or Successful completion of a master, post-master, or doctorate degree from an adult nurse practitioner program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
    or successfully pass one of the national certification examinations consistent with the applicant's educational specialty and administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification.
  • License: Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Wisconsin
    or current license to practice as Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery (Required).
