New Nurse Injectors often face challenges such as mastering injection techniques, building patient trust, and staying current with evolving products and procedures. What is the difference between Nurse Injector vs Medical Aesthetic Nurse?

AspectNurse InjectorMedical Aesthetic Nurse

Work EnvironmentMedical spas, dermatology clinics, cosmetic practicesMedical spas, dermatology clinics, cosmetic practices
Industry UsagePrimarily focused on injectables like Botox and fillersBroader aesthetic procedures including injectables, skincare, and laser treatments

Both Nurse Injectors and Medical Aesthetic Nurses are registered nurses with specialized training in aesthetic procedures. Nurse Injectors typically focus on administering injectables such as Botox and dermal fillers, working mainly in medical spas and cosmetic clinics. Medical Aesthetic Nurses may perform a wider range of aesthetic treatments, including laser procedures and skincare, in similar environments. The main difference lies in scope of practice, with Nurse Injectors specializing in injectables and Medical Aesthetic Nurses offering broader aesthetic services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a nurse injector, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Nurse Injector, you need a current RN or LPN/LVN license, a solid understanding of facial anatomy, and specialized training in cosmetic injectables. Familiarity with injection techniques, dermal fillers, neuromodulators like Botox, and knowledge of safety protocols and aesthetic documentation systems is essential. Exceptional attention to detail, patient communication, and a commitment to ongoing education help you stand out in this role. These skills ensure safe, effective, and satisfying cosmetic outcomes for clients while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

What does a nurse injector do?

As a nurse injector, you administer injections to patients, usually as part of a cosmetic dermal treatment. You educate patients about their diagnosis and treatment plan, talk about the benefits and risks of a proposed treatment plan, explain the alternatives, and write prescriptions. Many nurse injectors specialize in Botox treatments, but some also qualify to inject other substances as part of a treatment plan. Depending on the company, you may be asked to recommend or demonstrate retail products, ensure each treatment room is show ready, ensure the facility has enough supplies for each treatment, and answer any questions that are asked.

Job description

About JECT

JECT is a medical aesthetics practice specializing in cosmetic injectables, advanced device treatments, and medical-grade skincare. We offer a curated menu of services in a warm, inviting environment where safety and results are our highest priorities. Our mission is to make these services accessible and mainstream โ€” without compromising on the standard of care.

We are Specialized, Personalized, Welcoming, and Collaborative. These aren't poster values โ€” they're how we hire, how we lead, and how every client experiences JECT.

The Role

We are looking for an Aesthetic Provider who embodies our values and brings our brand mission to life โ€” empowering all people to look and feel their best. You'll lead the clinical experience at the chair: performing cosmetic injectables and medical-grade skincare treatments, building treatment plans tailored to each client, and serving as a trusted aesthetic advisor for the people who walk through our doors.

This role rewards craft and care. You'll work with industry-leading products and devices in a setting where safety and results define our standard โ€” and where your skill, judgment, and warmth shape how every client experiences JECT.

What You'll Own Clinical Treatment & Patient Care
  • Perform skin analysis and full-face aesthetic evaluations.
  • Adopt a consultative approach and develop a personalized treatment plan for each client, including cosmetic injectables, medical-grade skincare treatments, and an established skincare routine.
  • Perform cosmetic injectable treatments with an excellent skill level and attention to detail, including wrinkle reducers and dermal fillers.
  • Perform medical-grade skincare treatments available through the service menu.
  • Provide before and aftercare information for both cosmetic injectable and medical-grade skincare treatments.
  • Follow up with clients in a timely fashion after treatment to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Comply with company protocols, policies, and all relevant health and safety requirements.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Complete and maintain accurate required medical documentation: intake forms, consent forms, medical history, and medical records.
  • Capture consistent, high-quality before and after photography.
  • Successfully complete JECT Academy โ€” our comprehensive training program on cosmetic injectables, medical-grade skincare, the aesthetic consultation process, and customer service.
  • Maintain a high level of product, clinical, and industry knowledge through ongoing self-education and training.

Practice Support & Brand Representation

  • Build and maintain a strong client base through consultative care and timely follow-through.
  • Contribute to educational material and marketing content.
  • Represent JECT positively inside the practice and out โ€” credentialing yourself and the business when introducing yourself to new clients.
  • Identify and optimize sales opportunities through a thoughtful, consultative approach.
  • Support teammates as needed, regardless of the size of the task.
Who You Are
  • PA or NP degree.
  • Valid New York State license.
  • 2+ years of medical aesthetic and/or cosmetic injectable experience required.
  • Passionate about medical aesthetics, with a genuine commitment to staying current on trends, products, and techniques.
  • A consultative communicator who can discuss treatment plans and pricing while thoughtfully managing client expectations.
  • Empathetic and warm in a client-focused environment โ€” able to handle sensitive feedback with composure.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and able to balance care with commercial awareness.
  • A team player who's willing to coach, mentor, and pitch in wherever extra hands are needed.
  • Proficient with EMR and other practice software systems.
  • Strong conflict and problem-resolution skills.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours as the business requires.

Benefits & Perks

We invest in our team with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, your future, and your life outside of work:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Wellhub membership (fitness, wellness, and mindfulness access)
  • Paid Time Off
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Commuter and Parking benefits

Equal Opportunity

JECT is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
