Job description

Provide expert clinical pharmacy services in a home infusion setting, supporting patient care with meticulous attention to sterile compounding and medication management. This per diem role offers an opportunity to apply specialized knowledge in intravenous admixture and home infusion therapies.
Location: Raleigh, NC
Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Coverage periods: April 14-22, June 13-25, July 29-August 5
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify pharmaceutical products and drugs entering the clean room for sterile compounding, ensuring accurate batch number tracking.
  • Conduct final checks of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs), confirming labels, fill amounts, and drug accuracy.
  • Audit final shipments to patients, including medications and all associated medical supplies listed on delivery tickets.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, field nurses, and patients regarding drug regimens, inventory levels, adverse reactions, and abnormal lab results.
  • Proactively contact patients to coordinate medication deliveries, assess medication compliance, and address inventory concerns.
  • Field inquiries from medical offices, nursing agencies, and patients with professionalism and clarity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy or Master's in Pharmacy preferred.
  • Licensed Registered Pharmacist in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of two years recent experience in an acute-care setting or at least one year of recent home infusion therapy experience.
  • Strong expertise in intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy protocols.
  • Proficiency with CPR+ software is essential.
