ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

Position:      (2) Itinerant Academic Numeracy Coach(es)

Location:     Lewis County Schools

Qualifications:

               Must hold a valid WV Elementary Teaching certificate, K-5

               Master's degree, preferred

              Numeracy coaching experience, preferred

              Minimum of 5 successful years of K-5 teaching experience, required

              Working knowledge of CRA Pathways

              Must attend training July 20-22, 2026, in Charleston, WV

              Experience facilitation student-centered coaching cycles

              Experience with school level data collection and accountability for grant reporting

             Experience in supporting adult learners

Responsibilities:

Provide support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the full and skillful implementation of district's adopted reading/language arts and math programs

Conduct demonstration lessons to ensure that all teachers have been trained to an advanced level of delivery and are using the instructional materials as designed

Assist with implementation, planning, development and practice of small group instruction in all classrooms

             Provide support for all multi-tiered and enrichment system for Reading and Math

            Provide instruction on successful technology integration that supports student learning

Provide direct instruction to students in Grades K-5 in the form of interventions, enrichment activities and/or model lessons

Provide on-site staff development to ensure that teachers are knowledgeable about program components and understand the instructional design of the program meets the standards

Assist teachers in building an interactive classroom environment focused on the content and learning strategies embedded in the program

             Assist teachers and administrators with using formative assessments

Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions in Math to improve student achievement for all students

              Assist teachers in curriculum maps that align with instruction

Lead and assist with Professional Learning Communities (PLC) meetings in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student achievement

              Assist grade level teams in setting goals for improved instruction

Meet regularly with teachers and administrators to review skill assessment data and to assess the outcomes of goals established by grade level teams

             Prepares forms, records, and reports as directed

              Attend meetings and training as directed

Perform all other duties and services assigned by the Elementary Director (relevant to the successful implementation of the District ELA and Math programs and supplemental reading and math intervention programs)

Funding: WV Impact+ Coaching Grant 

Term: 210 days, as funding is available through WV Impact+ Coaching grant

Salary: Commensurate with certification and Experience

Available: July 1, 2026
