Safety & Training Manager

Location: Las Cruces, NM (Travel to sites as needed)
Department: Human Resources
FLSA Status: Exempt
Employment Type: Full-Time


About the Role

Tresco is seeking a Safety & Training Manager to lead and strengthen our organization-wide safety and training programs. This is a key leadership role designed for a professional who is passionate about workplace safety, employee development, and building effective training systems that support operational excellence.

As Tresco continues to grow, this role plays a critical part in ensuring our teams are well-trained, compliant, and supported. The Safety & Training Manager will work closely with leadership, project teams, and employees across multiple contracts to create consistent, practical, and impactful safety and training programs.


What You’ll Do
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of safety and training programs across the organization

  • Design and coordinate required safety, compliance, and professional development trainings

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, workers’ compensation, and applicable federal, state, and contract-specific requirements

  • Oversee accident investigations, incident reporting, and corrective action follow-up

  • Coordinate new hire orientation and ongoing training initiatives

  • Track training completion, certifications, and compliance documentation

  • Partner with managers and leadership to identify training needs and improve safety practices

  • Support emergency preparedness planning and safety audits

  • Supervise and support safety and training staff, as applicable

  • Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership


What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, training, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, training, compliance, or a related role

  • Experience developing and delivering training programs

  • Strong understanding of workplace safety principles and compliance requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence without direct authority

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training management systems


Preferred Experience
  • Experience in regulated or contract-based environments

  • Supervisory or leadership experience

  • CPR/First Aid, Defensive Driving, or safety-related certifications
