Job description


The Nuclear Engineering Supervisor leads a team of engineers supporting critical nuclear valve and product engineering activities in Mansfield, MA. This role is responsible for overseeing engineering execution, ensuring regulatory and quality compliance, and supporting manufacturing and customer needs across nuclear projects. The position plays a key role in driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and team development within the Engineering group.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Lead and coordinate engineering workload distribution, ensuring projects, customer orders, and engineering requests are appropriately prioritized and assigned.
  • Monitor department capacity, backlog, and upcoming project demand to balance resources and maintain on-time delivery of engineering work.
  • Oversee technical review processes for quotes, orders, and engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
  • Facilitate regular engineering team meetings to review project progress, communicate organizational updates, and align priorities.
  • Support manufacturing and cross-functional teams by providing technical guidance, resolving engineering questions, and assisting with production or testing needs.

Who You Are:
You identify and create the processes necessary to get work done. You form diverse teams to create a mix of styles, perspectives, and experience. You promote a sense of urgency and establish and enforce individual accountability in the team. You create milestones and symbols to rally support behind the vision.
FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in valve design for the nuclear industry.
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
  • 5+ years of working experience with quality program to 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR Part 21, NQA-1 and IEEE qualifications
  • Minimum of two years in a leadership role with a strong focus on talent development
  • Knowledge of ASME BPV Code, material and welding standards, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
  • Practical experience in valve design for the nuclear industry
  • Licensed Professional Engineer desirable
